Joined the club on 2nd January 2007 on a one month loan spell from Nottingham Forest, and made his debut in the 3-1 defeat away at Southport. The centre back started his career by graduating from the Nottingham Forest Academy, and made his league debut as a sub against Swansea City. After just a couple of appearances, he was loaned out to Wycombe Wanderers & Blackpool in the first half of the 2006/07 season before joining Grays.
