Oâ€™Connor born in Nottingham, started his career at Ilkeston Town before moving to League Two side, Scunthorpe United on 12th December 2002 after impressing for the reserves. |
However Aaron featured in just three games as a substitute for The Iron, totalling just 31 minutes failing to hit the onion bag. Brian Laws released the 19 year-old in February 2003, claiming he didnâ€™t have the right attitude for the professional club.
The young striker then started the 2003/04 season with Nuneaton Borough, before making the move to Ilkeston Town.
The following season, 21 year-old Aaron moved to The Moat Ground in July 2004. During his two-seasons at Gresley, he netted 80 times in 127 appearances. He also picked up a host of awards including Managerâ€™s, Playerâ€™s and Supporterâ€™s Player of The Year two years on the trot.
Aaron Oâ€™Connor signed for Grays Athletic on 5th January 2007, and made his debut a day after in the 4-1 away defeat against Southport. His first (and second) goal for The Blues came against Rushden & Diamonds on 27th March, where he had previously had an unsuccessful trial.
